TIMA Told Parents "No Decision Has Been Made" the Same Day District Slides Scoped a $5 to $8 Million Campaign to Move Off Tybee

Tybee Island Maritime Academy told parents on August 24, 2026 that "no decision about the future of TIMA has been made." That same day, a Savannah-Chatham County Public School System feasibility document had already scoped a $5 to $8 million fundraising campaign for the Thunderbolt building the school's foundation purchased more than a month earlier.

Same Scam, Two Names: Fake Auction Sites Impersonate Real Businesses to Collect Bank Wires

Two websites that solicit bank wires for trucks, tractors, and heavy equipment share the same registrar, web host, and page template, public records show. Both impersonate real auction businesses, and one changed a buyer's wire destination to a Colorado company formed weeks earlier.
