TransitPin Parent Guide¶
This guide is for parents and guardians registering a child for student transportation. It explains, step by step, how to sign in, register, and use the parent portal. No technical knowledge is needed.
Getting to the sign-in page¶
Open your browser and go to the address your transportation provider gave you. It will look like either:
https://my.transitpin.com/signin.html
or a provider-specific address such as a branded subdomain that lands on the same sign-in page. That single page handles both signing in and registering.
If you were given a link to an older "register" page, it now redirects you to this same sign-in page automatically.
Signing in (returning parents)¶
If you already have an account, use the Sign in side of the page:
- Enter your email address.
- Enter your password.
- Click Sign in.
The system recognizes your account type and sends you to the parent portal automatically. From there you can see your child's route and status.
If you forgot your password, contact your transportation provider; password resets are handled through the provider's support channel.
Registering a new child¶
If this is your first time, use the Register side of the page. Registration is a single form split into numbered sections. Fill it out top to bottom.
1. Your information¶
- Your name, email, phone, and home address.
- Your preferred contact method (phone call, text, or email).
- Second parent or guardian (optional): name, relationship, phone, and email.
- Up to two emergency contacts, each with name, relationship, phone, and whether that person is allowed to pick up your child.
2. Student information¶
Add each child (there are slots for up to three). For each child you enter:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Grade (Pre-K through 12th)
- School name (chosen from a dropdown; the address fills in automatically)
- Any allergies or medical details (optional; a checkbox reveals the field)
- Whether the child has an IEP (Individualized Education Program)
- Transportation need: check Morning and/or Afternoon depending on what you need. Checking both means two-way service; checking one means one-way.
3. Billing¶
- First Pickup Date: the date your child will first ride. A note under this field says your first weekly invoice is generated 5 days before this date.
- Payment frequency: Weekly, Bi-weekly, or Monthly.
- Payment method: Credit/Debit Card, ACH Bank Transfer, or Cash/Check.
- Card details and billing address if paying by card.
- A "Same as Home Address" checkbox to copy your home address to billing.
4. Agreements¶
Read and check all five policy boxes. Each links to the full policy:
- Transportation Agreement
- Photo/Media Release
- Late Pickup Policy
- Late Payment Policy
- Child Privacy Policy
You must check all five to submit. The form will remind you if any are missing.
5. Submit¶
At the bottom you see the fee: "One-time registration fee: $50.00, due at enrollment." Click "Submit Registration".
You will see a confirmation that your registration was submitted and that the provider will contact you to confirm enrollment.
Pricing¶
- One-time registration fee: $50.00, due at enrollment.
- One-way pickup or drop-off: $120.00 per week.
- Two-way pickup and drop-off: $175.00 per week.
Whether you are charged one-way or two-way is determined by the Transportation Need you selected for each child (morning and afternoon = two-way; only one = one-way).
What happens after you register¶
- Your provider reviews your registration and approves it.
- Five days before your first pickup date, your first weekly invoice is generated and sent by email.
- You pay the invoice, and your child starts riding on the first pickup date.
Logging in afterward¶
After you are enrolled, sign in the same way you registered: go to the sign-in page and enter your email and password. You land on the parent portal, where you can view your child's route and status.
Help¶
If anything is unclear, the registration form links to each policy for you to read. For account or payment questions, contact your transportation provider directly.
